James Walker Raley

I haven't updated the blog in forever!! Things have been crazy around here. James Walker Raley was born September 17, 2010 andhas changed our lives.

Walker's birth was long but wonderful. My water broke Thursday night at 8:30. Jeff and I had just gotten done from taking our daily walk and had dinner. I jumped in the shower and then my water broke. It was really funny because we both weren't sure. We called the doctor and headed to the hospital and sure enough the fun was about to begin. Everyone came up to hang out and hoping that little man would come but he was still happy where he was. I had to be educed at 430am and the fun began. Everyone came back up to the hospital to hang out.
I was feeling great and had to make sure I looked pretty so Erin did my hair. Emily was there as well to assist =) I love my girls!!
Around 1:30 I started feeling a lot more pain and was not a happy camper. Come to find out my epidural had fallen out. I was able to get another one. I will like to say that I survived contractions when I was at a 9!!!!! Around 2:11 I began to push. Things were going great but little man just wasn't moving. At 4:30 my doctor came in and said that I am going to push and she will pull. At 4:48 our little miracle was here. It was longer than we all thought but all worth it in the end.

We were able to come home Saturday night. It was so funny to see the dogs meeting Walker. They were very interested in the noises but now are very used to him.
We are having so much fun being parents. Jeff was able to stay at home a week with us which was awesome. I am so thankful to be able to be at home till December 1st. Little man and I are having so much fun. We go on walks and run errands. I love having a little shopping buddy. Walker is doing really well at night. He is waking up only one time which is great. Sometimes we have a little trouble getting him back down but I can't complain. We also don't have many fussy times. If he starts getting fussy he just needs his paci or to be held for a second. We are very thankful that he is happy and healthy.
I thank God everyday for our little man. I have never felt love that I feel for my son. Being a mommy is so amazing and I can't wait for everyone to experience it. I have always been a strong believer in Christ but holding your child for the first time makes the feeling even stronger. A child is truly a gift from God.
